Keep It Green supplies Fralo-branded polyethylene (PE) below-ground cisterns made by Roth Global Plastics. These blow-molded tanks are the strongest plastic tanks on the market and are made with an inner layer of FDA-approved virgin HDPE, two inside layers of PE for improved stability, plus one outer layer of black and UV-stabilized PE.

What does this mean? It means that these PE tanks can be used for potable water applications.

Competing PE tank alternatives require water in the tank during the backfill process hence complicating installation. Additionally, competing PE tanks require a certain water level (as high as 30%) to be maintained in the tank at all times, meaning that with a 1500gal tank, your system only has access to about 1000gal. Conversely, Fralo tanks by Roth Global are strong enough that they DO NOT require water during the backfill process and DO NOT require a specific water level to be maintained. Therefore your system has access to the full capacity of the tank.
